KMAN is proud to present the latest release from Euglossine, AKA Tristan Whitehill of Gainesville, Florida.
After captivating releases like 2019's Coriolis (Hausu Mountain) and 2018's Librarian EP (Midwest Collective), Euglossine returns with a concise, carefully tuned distillation of his abilities as a musician and sound artist. Side A moves from the assured groove, tasteful synth florishes and boogie bass of the title track to the cunning murky dub of "Neo Sprout." Side B returns to the light with the playful syncopation and hard funk textures of "Antena," the deftly hewn textures and space of "Silica," and the tropical guitar-driven groove of "Terrazzo" (reminding this listener of Harry Case's late 80's jammers on "In A Mood").
We at KMAN HQ are truly blown away by the range of styles and sounds on display here and humbled by the craft and ear of one Mr. Whitehill. We're honored to share his work with you now. Take a midsummer's journey to these vistas!
